Анотація
У статті досліджується роль Державного підприємства Науково-телекомунікаційний центр “Українська академічна і дослідницька мережа”, засновником якого є Інститут фізики конденсованих систем НАН України, у зародженні, реалізації та розвитку реальних проектів функціонування науково-освітніх комп’ютерних мереж закладів освіти і науки України протягом 1990 – 2010 років. Вивчаються особливості участі підприємства у заснуванні науково-освітніх мереж, у виконанні функцій оператора, провайдера та технічного менеджера щодо забезпечення функціонування мереж закладів вищої освіти та науки України.
The article examines the role of the State Enterprise Scientific and Telecommunication Center "Ukrainian Academic and Research Network", the founder of which is the Institute of Physics of Condensed systems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in the realization and development of real projects of the functioning of scientific and educational computer networks of educational and scientific institutions of Ukraine during 1990-2010 years. The article concludes that the UARNet project was the first project of creation and initial development of scientific and educational telecommunication networks in Ukraine. As the Western Ukrainian segment of the telecommunication network of educational and scientific establishments in Ukraine, it became the basis for the founding of the Ukrainian scientific and educational network URAN, during the entire time of the creation and functioning of the Academic Data Exchange Network, it was an operator, played a key role in connecting the networks of URAN and AMOD to the European education and research network GEANT, played a prominent role in launching the first GRID-segment in Ukraine, which ensured the collective use of high-performance computing resources located at the institutes of the National Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Education and Science.
