The publication is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs - the leading institution of legal education and training of law enforcement officers in Donetsk region. The basic stages of the formation of the higher education institution are revealed, from the foundation of the Donetsk special high school of the militia to obtaining the status of a university. The modern structure and directions of activity of the educational institution in the cities of Mariupol and Kryvyi Rih are determined, and the prospects for its development are presented. The publication is compiled for graduates of secondary education institutions who are preparing for the EIT on the history of Ukraine.
